Excerpt from the Eucharistic prayer
Part three:
The night before Jesus gave up his life for us, he took bread, broke it and shared it with the friends he cherished saying. . .
All:
Take this all of you and eat; this is my body which will be given for you, as a sign of the love I have for you from the dawning of eternity.
Then Jesus took the cup of wine, praised Shekinah, the Light of the heavens that guided the Hebrew people in the desert, and shared the cup, saying. . .
All:
Take this all of you and drink; this is the cup of my blood, the blood that will nurture your soul; it will be poured out for your liberation. Do this in my memory.
Let us rejoice as we remember that we are the body and the blood of the Risen Christ. God of Light, kindle the fire of your love in our hearts. Enable us to act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with you. Risen Sun, you have died that we may no longer be blind. You have risen that we may see with the eyes of faith and you will come every day to shine hope into the darkness of negativity and sin around us. May our lives glow with the goodness as a candle shines in the darkness. May the leaders of our world and church, and all those who suffer from hunger, poverty, and discrimination walk in your radiant splendor. May all who have died rest in your eternal light.
