by pauletta hansel
Pauletta Hansel is a writer native to the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. In Cincinnati, Pauletta was a founding member of Street Talk, a theater collective which wrote, produced and performed plays locally and nationally during 1980-1984.
In 1998 she premiered her one-woman performance of poetry and monologue, Sitting with Terry.
Both Sitting with Terry and Divining were funded in part by grants from the City of Cincinnati.
Her professional work is now mostly divided between the Urban Appalachian council, an advocacy, service and cultural organization serving the descendents of Cincinnati's Appalachian migrants, and women Writing for (a) Change, a feminist creative writing center which provides time, space and a supportive community to encourage women and girls in their writing and their lives.
Pauletta Hansel is available for readings and creative workshops and may be reached by email at phansel@one.net
